An hour or so with Nancy Kerr

An hour or so with Nancy Kerr

Nancy Kerr is an internationally renowned fiddle player, singer, songwriter, composer, Leeds Conservatoire principal lecturer and multiple BBC Radio 2 Folk Award winner, including "Best Singer" in 2015.

Constantly in demand both as a soloist and in her various combinations (Kerr Fagan, Simpson Cutting Kerr, Melrose Quartet), she is also one of the most prolific writers of newly commissioned folk songs in the UK.

Recent commisisons include "The Elizabethan Session", "Sweet Liberties", "Shake The Chains", and a new suite of songs for the Shakespeare's Birthplace Trust (RSC).  Her most recent CD of original songs is "Instar”, which includes the beautiful “Fragile Water”.

“’Instar’ is not merely good, it’s vital, visceral and urgent –  balm for our woes, hope for our future: an essential companion for these turbulent times.” Folk Radio UK

’Instar’ is quite simply a masterpiece; an outstanding collection with not a single weak link.” Fatea Magazine

To purchase tickets for this event please click on ‘Register’ below. On the next page you can select ticket types and quantities.

We are offering three ticket types for this event:

- Standard ticket is the ‘normal’ price that we would charge for the event
- Pay a bit more is for those who can afford to, and would like to help support live music and our artists
- Pay a bit less is for those who would find the standard ticket a bit of a stretch, for whatever reason

You can purchase whichever ticket you like; you don’t need to give a reason, and you won’t be asked for any proof of need. For online events you only need to purchase one ticket per household/computer.

We are trialling this ticket system to help make our events more accessible to more people, and to allow those who would happily pay a bit more to do so easily, helping us to subsidise tickets for those who can’t afford them.
