Festival Opening Event - call for singers

For 2021 we are re-visiting our very first Festival Opening Ceremony with this fabulous Spring Carol, written by Cat McGill. We'd like to invite you to record yourself singing along to one of the parts and send it into us and we'll edit it all together to form the 2021 (Virtual) Festival Choir!

How to join in:

Download the lyrics and/or score below, and learn whichever part you like best.

To record you will need TWO devices: one to play the guide track (plug headphones into this one if possible) and one to do the actual recording on.

You can choose a guide track from the tracks below, or you can use the conductor video here, whichever you feel most comfortable singing along with.

The easiest way to do this is to use a computer to play the guide track, and have a smartphone to record you, just using the camera phone/video app. Ideally you want to set it up on something so you're not having to hold it.

We don't mind at all what's in your background so get creative - but just bear in mind if you're outside on a gusty day your phone will pick up a lot of noise from the wind! Equally we can take landscape or portrait orientations, whatever's easiest for you. If you want to sing along but don't want your face in the final video then either just send an audio recording or cover your camera lens when you're recording.

Please send your video to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by Monday 12th April - if it's too big for email then upload to WeTransfer.com.
